I’m dedicated to helping you understand health issues better. And to learn to write about them. And there’s no better way, than using yourself!

That’s why I’m here!

I am a wife, mother, grandma (GiGi to 3), and a rescue dog mom. I published my first book, “Mother Knows Best: A Memoir” back in 2021. And I’m currently working on another memoir, publishing a revised edition of Mother Knows Best, and writing a nonfiction book that will be different from all of my other writing. I currently write articles about my health conditions, letting you know what works and what doesn’t.

I have a Bachelor’s in English. A Master’s in Journalism. And am currently pursuing my PhD in Strategic Communications.

As a writer, I love writer’s workshops, writing to cues (my favorite). Learning what other writers are teaching is valuable information.

“I will eviscerate you in fiction. Every pimple, every character flaw. I was naked for a day; you will be naked for eternity.” From Chaucer, in A Knights Tale

I love a good quote from a movie. One by Prince Edward from A Knight’s Tale is, “This is my word and as such is beyond contestation.”

I don’t know about you but I love movies. I love screenplays as compared to books.

Another quote I use all the time is, “Let’s not and say we did,” from the book, The Jane Austen Book Club.

Why I’m Passionate About What I Do

I am a writer. Mostly memoir and nonfiction, especially health. I use myself as the guinea pig for most of what I write. In the past I was a fiction writer. And I’d really like to get back to my roots. But it’s hard to change course, when it comes to writing.

And I absolutely love chocolate. Especially eating chocolate in bed while I read a book or edit some pages. I’ve gotten where I don’t write much from bed. Because my doctor says that it over stimulates me. I’m not sure I agree. But I’ll try it in the name of science. I wonder what she’d say about my bag of Skittles that I also hide beside the bed.
